Installation • [Solved] Debian 12 net install with no desktop environment selected leaves no network

I decided to install Debian 12 again but this time use the net install rather than the live iso. I also deliberately deselected any Desktop Environment from the install. On reboot I logged in at the command line and then ran "sudo apt install kde-plasma-desktop" as this installs a much more minimal KDE installation without all the apps I consider unneccessary. This is great as it's a big improvment IMHO. However, there is then no network connection.

I partly fixed this as I found someone with the same issue who had a solution. When the net install had finished and it was at the screen that says to press continue to reboot, instead of doing that I pressed CTRL+ALT+F3 and then ran "sudo apt-install network-manager". Apparently this is because without a DE being installed Debian doesn't install the network-manager package.

This works. I can access the network and internet from Debian. Hence being able to type this. However, Discover still doesn't work and says there is no internet connection.

Does anyone know why this is?

Edit: This just resolved itself after two restarts without me doing anything in between other than a bit of web browsing. I am not sure why it resolved but best not to ask :D
