After examining a number of distros, I chose Debian for it's stability and all open-source software.
After installing for another user, the Epson 3850 won't do duplex mode(print both sides of page). I tried installing the printer Debian software driver. No effect.
I found scanner software, 'document scanner' and it worked. Also, I've found 'scanlite' is good. When tried to install their scanner software, app won't display 'epson 3850' in the window.
As I am helping someone else, I won't able to respond for about 3-5 days. Thanks. (wrong forum - change to hardware)
