I am using a nanopi R6S. I have installed the Debian bullseye desktop image provided by the manufacturer (FriendlyElec). It is running xfce. When I first started the system up, I tested the sound, and it worked in the USB headset, but not in the HDMI monitor.
Subsequently the sound stopped working - possibly following a "sudo apt-get update"?. The speaker icon at top right has an X next to it. When I click on the icon, it says "Audio mixer...", and when I click on that, it displays an error message ("Connection to PulseAudio failed...").
I am attempting to troubleshoot this, I would be grateful for any assistance.
Edit: Output of inxi -Fxxxz:
Edit2: I ran sudo adduser myusername audio and rebooted, no joy.
