I've installed Labwc (labwc.github.io/getting-started.html - packages.debian.org/trixie/labwc) on a Debian 6.7.12-1 VirtualBox VM. The project's site labwc.github.io/getting-started.html states:
"Before doing any configuration, you can start labwc with the following command to start an application (alacritty is used in the example, but it could of course be any application):
labwc -s alacritty"
Running "labwc -s alacritty" yields errors referencing "..unable to create renderere..." as shown in attached image which also shows the versions of several packages.

I also tried running alacritty. This error also shown in the image shows "Failed to initialize any backend!..."
This led me to think the labwc package missed the wayland package dependency but trying to sudo apt install wayland resulted in "Error: Unable to locate package wayland".
I'm lost here. Any ideas on how to get Wayland and Labwc running on Debian?
Is there another compositor that works on Debian and Wayland?
The goal of using Wayland is to take advantage of Wayland's feature of not sharing keyboard presses with all running applications. I initially found labwc here: wiki.debian.org/Wayland.
Thanks.
