Hi!
I've just installed Debian on a machine, and in the GUI (ncurses) install guide I de-selected whatever Desktop Environment was there.
However, when I reboot the machine, I'm left with a blank screen and a cursor at top left corner. I can't do anything. After a few reboots I notice the last thing on the screen is indication that Gnome Display Manager is starting(!).
So started in recovery mode, did apt-get remove gdm3, and now things are as expected: I'm dropped into the tty login screen.
This feels very much like a bug to me, why is Gnome installed when selecting to not install any, and why does GDM insert itself, trying to start non-existing DE?
