I have a Dell Latitude 5550 that I installed Debian 12.5 on. I've noticed that running Debian, I am unable to use two-finger scrolling on the touchpad. Having looked through the output of xinput, the only input device I've seen related to the touchpad is PS/2 Generic Mouse. I have tried using the Ubuntu 24.04 Live CD on this same laptop, and the touchpad (with two-finger scrolling) works correctly, and shows up as a device using the i2c-hid driver.
So far, I've tried the following, to no avail:
At this point I'm pretty much out of ideas for what else I should try, so I would appreciate any input. Thanks!
So far, I've tried the following, to no avail:
- Switching to Sid and updating
- Compiling and installing the latest version of both libinput and the libinput X driver
- Compiling and installing the latest stable kernel (6.9.5)
At this point I'm pretty much out of ideas for what else I should try, so I would appreciate any input. Thanks!
