In KDE’s Konsole there is an option “Save Output As” shown here:

I’ve found no such option in GNOME’s TERMINAL. GNOME’s TERMINAL does have a “Select All” option but unlike KDE’s Konsole, GNOME’s TERMINAL option only selects the currently displayed content. From what I’ve read the GNOME TERMINAL author removed support for selecting the entire buffer due to an error. I found you can navigate to the first line of the GNOME TERMINAL buffer, select a line, navigate to the last line of the buffer, and select the entire buffer to achieve the result of Konsole’s “Select All” option. You can then copy the buffer to an editor for saving. I’m curious if there is a way using bash to copy the entire buffer to a file? If not, is there a way to have bash write all content to a file as well as the screen while the bash feature is running?
Thanks![Very Happy :D]()
