So i've a fresh debian 12 VPS running the following for my personal VPN: wireguard, dnsmasq, stubby.
Wireguard handles the tunnel, dnsmasq the caching and stubby the dns resolving.
I'm using the same configs that i've used on another distro (non-debian) for years without issues, However i've noticed for this debian VPS, i'm unable to resolve various google services like youtube.com , google drive etc
I've tried the same configs on another debian VPS to rule out it wasn't google blocking the ip address for some reason but still same issue.
Stubby is setup to use cloudflare and google for dns resolvers. I've also tried just using google with stubby to see if cloudflare was to blame, but still same issue.
I've checked the various services on the VPS via systemctl and none complain or show any signs of having issues.
Quite a puzzling situation as other domains resolve just fine.
/etc/stubby/stubby.yml - https://paste.debian.net/hidden/20c3c7dc/
/etc/dnsmasq.conf - https://paste.debian.net/1322631/
