Debian 11 bullseye (oldstable) with KDE and konsole 20.12.3

Inside Konsole I have not found "mail" command available. After "sudo apt install mailutils" I can use "mail", but I do not see any CLI notification of a newly arrived email, which I am used to seeing on a different Linux distributions (it usually appeared after executing some command).

I can see that it appears on a default CLI (Ctrl+Alt+F5, then Alt+F7) but not inside Konsole app (that shows a terminal in KDE GUI).

ChatGPT told me to "sudo apt-get install biff" and then "biff y", yet it does not work. Installation command says:
...
Setting up biff (1:0.17.pre20000412-5.1) ...
grep: /etc/inetd.conf: No such file or directory
grep: /etc/inetd.conf: No such file or directory
update-inetd: warning: cannot add service, /etc/inetd.conf does not exist
Processing triggers for man-db (2.9.4-2) ...
Description: a mail notification tool
biff is a small program that prints a message to your terminal
when new email arrives. Actually, the message is printed by
the comsat daemon, and biff just enables/disables the u+x
permission flag for the terminal, which comsat uses to determine
whether or not to write to your terminal.
that is all.
