Greetings to all! I just bought a New Dell Inspiron 16 5640 Laptop for $703.29 out the door. It has Windows 11 on it and I want to install Debian 12 Bookworm. I don’t have the computer yet but when I can it I’m going to run Debian-Live with KDE desktop to make sure that my video, sound, networking, speaker volume, microphone, Bluetooth and everything else works.
These are my computer specs:
New Dell Inspiron 16 5640 Laptop
Processor
Intel® Core™ 7 processor 150U (12MB cache, 10 cores, 12 threads, up to 5.4 GHz)
Operating System
Windows 11 Home
Memory
16GB, 2x8GB, DDR5, 5200 MT/s
Storage
1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive
Display
16", FHD+ 1920x1200, 60Hz, WVA, Touch, 300 nit, ComfortView Plus
FGA Module 2500_1014T/US/BTS
Graphics
Intel® Graphics
Driver
Wireless Driver
Non-Microsoft Application Software
Additional Software - US/CA
Wireless
Realtek Wi-Fi 6E RTL8852CE, 2x2, 802.11ax, MU-MIMO, Bluetooth® wireless card
I was just wondering if any potential problems jump right out at any of you? Of, course there is not way you can know with absolute certainty but what do you think? Do you think that I stand pretty good chance of getting everything to work right as long as there aren’t components that are defective. Thanks in advance. Cheers!
