I use Bookworm with KDE Plasma and I have discovered a problem with the sound. For some reason, the sound does not work unless the audio volume widget is open. If I close the widget, after about 3 seconds the sound cuts off. If I reopen the widget, the sound works again. Right now, I'm working around the problem by pinning the widget open. What might cause this and is there a way to configure the sound to work with the widget minimized in the system tray?
