Beginners Questions • [O/S] Sometimes Lid close turns off instead of lock screen!

I am on Debian KDE, sometimes when I close the lid and reopen I find it like logged out or rebooting not just switching off the screen as it is configured to do? Why and how to prevent this?

I double checked the system settings, it is set to just lock the screen whether on power, battery or low battery.

Any help would be highly appreciated. Anybody had this issue?
