After an upgrade from Bullseye to Bookworm, I notice that clamscan takes several times longer on the same file set. From the clamav scan long, old is on top, new on bottom:

Code:

----------- SCAN SUMMARY -----------Known viruses: 8682377Engine version: 0.103.10Scanned directories: 97010Scanned files: 505090Infected files: 0Data scanned: 22633.37 MBData read: 74819.58 MB (ratio 0.30:1)Time: 2371.504 sec (39 m 31 s)Start Date: 2024:01:10 11:19:47End Date: 2024:01:10 11:49:18------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SCAN SUMMARY -----------Known viruses: 8682507Engine version: 1.0.3Scanned directories: 101278Scanned files: 505413Infected files: 0Data scanned: 25810.30 MBData read: 58804.23 MB (ratio 0.44:1)Time: 13252.474 sec (220 m 52 s)Start Date: 2024:01:12 22:25:15End Date: 2024:01:13 02:06:07
It now takes over three hours. Time: 13252.474 sec (220 m 52 s).

Maybe just a setting change can reduce this? I hesitate to throw --max-scantime=#n as that is just a simple cutoff.
