I am posting this in hope somebody else is using jami (formerly Ring), a secure and distributed voice, video and chat platform.
I have been experiencing an issue with the software's graphical interface just suddenly vanishing at any random moment.
This only happens during a video call. Never during a sound-only call. It usually happens several times during the video call and at completely random intervals.
The interesting part is that the call still continues, the sound and video are still transferred from my client and I can still hear the other end talking (basically, jamid is still running), but with no graphical interface whatsoever.
If I re-launch the software while the call is still ongoing, the graphical interface re-appears, but no video input/output window can be seen.
Starting jami from terminal shows the following error when the interface disappears: "could not map data of QVideoFrame for upload, Terminated".
I have also filed a bug report about this problem (#1065739), but I'm trying to figure out if anybody else is having a similar issue.
Could it be somehow hardware-related (although I have tried with two different webcams and the problem persists)?
