Hi,
I installed QGIS on Debian but Bookworm doesn't have PDAL support, so won't open LiDAR (LAS, LAZ) point cloud files.
I'm not sure why PDAL isn't included with Bookworm, but maybe it's a licensing thing? I've also read that it's challenging to compile...
There are instructions for adding an (unstable?) 'ubuntugis' ppa ... but, other than building from source (see above, times 100), I'm looking at these three options:
Any input greatly appreciated!
[EDIT] I'm putting QGIS on a Jammy Jellfish (Ubuntu) VM, so I'll see how that goes and update here.

- Conda
- pers comm: The easier approach might be to setup a conda environment that includes pdal and qgis. When you activate that environment you should have the pdal CLI, the python bindings and qgis with pdal available.
- Flatpack
- Spack
Any input greatly appreciated!
