Installation • Bookworm backports xournal++

I'm using Debian 12 and found I nice app called xournal++ the version on the repository is outdated so I've decided to use backports

sudo apt install xournalpp/bookworm-backports --> E: Release 'bookworm-backports' for 'xournalpp' was not found

Since the last isn't working I used

sudo apt install -t bookworm-backports xournalpp

I got the old version installed instead of the 1.2.3 available on Trixie

I guess the issue are the dependencies. I've never used backports before
Can someone give me a hint

I think it's not yet available on backports, right?
/etc/apt $ apt search xournalpp

https://packages.debian.org/trixie/xournalpp shows the newer version ......
I don't understand why I can't get it through backports
