Recently installed Debian via the full installer. Chose MATE as the default desktop environment, since it was the default choice. I don't think I chose any particularly weird options.
However when I booted into the system, the screen reader was on by default. I disabled it for my specific user, but it was still enabled on boot until I logged into that user.
I attempted to uninstall orca, which was a suggested fix, however that broke the default x environment on boot, and I had to switch to a different tty to login.
Why is the screen reader on by default, and how do I permanently disable it without breaking anything else?
Thanks in advance
