Triannual yearly staff appreciation thread from upper upper management. ![Smile :)]()
Just want to give a shout out to all of the staff here that do amazing work in keeping these forums clean, well moderated, and aid in adding back into the amazing community that makes up Debian.
I speak about: @4D696B65, @dilberts_left_nut, @sunrat, @Aki, @Hallvor, @FreewheelinFrank, @CwF, @canci and @fabien
Special mention to a few Debian Developers who also help out here with media: @anupa and @eamanu.
If you look at the Team Members page you will see that each member of the staff has an area of concentration* but they are literally everywhere around the forums, this is the part that you, our fellow members see.
What many do not see are the countless hours that they spend here on the forums, spam hunting and catching, user account maintenance, responding to emails that never end, liaisons to other forums to foster relationships, a spammer complaint bin that is too large to /dev/null, nor do you get to see a great council that comes together to review our rules, extensions, themes, and modifications to the forums among other things.
These forums have come a long way in a few years and have been here for more than a few years. This is due solely to the amazing staff here, but equally as important is the appreciation of the membership here that is above and beyond what most people can find on technical forums. The members here point out what to post, how and where best to post it, you all give amazing advice with relevant experience, and are friendly, patient and kind. Rare online, absolute Gold here.
Together we have all made a great team and a great user community.
Okay, that is all the praise I am giving until 2027.
(p.s. no more free soda in the lounge its not healthy and we dropped the dental plan ... so ...
)
And let us not forget to honour one of our own, arochester who passed earlier this year, he was and is still missed.
Thank you all!
*don't let the moniker fool you, each moderator here is actually an Administrator, we just use the built in category label of moderator for the sections.
Be well, be kind,
-Donald
