This has been happening for a while now, but I noticed it just now while copying data from an external hard drive onto my NVME SSD through Thunar. Everything is fine for a while (about 10-15 seconds), then out of nowhere a giant ~500ms stutter happens, at least in the GUI. I've tried some modifications to the vm section of my sysctl config, but none of them changed anything.
I have an i5-13600k, so the CPU itself shouldn't be an issue.
(On a side note, I've noticed similar but smaller stutters when launching programs through wine. I don't know if it's related.)
Sorry for being vague, I'm not sure where to start diagnosing this.
Results from KDiskMark show that there's something very weird going on... why is an SSD that has been shown to handle 2,000+ MB/s stuck at 20-40 when many queues are used?
