Graphical Environments & Desktops • Cinnamon not detecting first "tick" of mouse scroll

I have a Dell Precision laptop and use a Logitech M705 with a Unifying receiver. I'm running Bookworm with Cinnamon manually installed (for the sake of learning). I encountered the known bug where changing scrolling direction misses the first scroll notch, but fixed that by blacklisting the hidpp module. However, the Cinnamon control panels still miss the first scroll notch, but only the first. It continues to work when changing direction and such. Anyone know what might fix it? It's really my only gripe with Debian and Cinnamon. It has proven to be difficult to google.
