General Questions • Unable to get into BIOS after setting shimx64.efi as a trusted uefi file

Hi guys,

I recently installed Debian alongside windows on my Acer laptop. Both OSs are in different drives and have separate efi positions. And hence after the installation I couldn't boot into debian cuz, windows was the first boot priority. I tried checking the boot order, but unfortunately there is only a single entry (named 2.)

I researched about this a bit and found this post regarding adding the efi file to "trusted" list (https://itsfoss.com/no-bootable-device-found-ubuntu/). After doing exactly what's mentioned in the website, I'm not able to get into BIOS. All I see is a black screen with a single static underscore. Tried to look for possible fixes but none seem to work. Is there any way to fix this or revert to previous state?

NB: Resetting BIOS poses a risk of breaking my system, as by default the F12 key is disabled during boot (the key which helps me choose which drive to boot from without going into BIOS). If the black screen issue persists after BIOS reset, I won't ever be able to boot into debian again.
