Beginners Questions • [Video] AMD Radeon Pro Vega 48 Issues...

Hello,

I am new to Linux and was hoping someone could help me with my graphics card.

I currently have the following spec:

iMac 2019
Intel 8-Core i9
1TB SSD
128GB RAM
AMD Radeon Pro Vega 48 8GB

I have installed both MacOS and Windows 11 on this machine and both recognise my video card at resolution 5120x2880.

On Debian 12, the max resolution is 3840x2160. Is there a reason for this?

Code:

Davinci Resolve will only run in GPU mode and runs great on MacOS and Windows 11. I have installed it on Debian 12 and even though it launches, it then takes me to the GPU configuration dialog. Normally the GPU card is listed, however for some reason the Vega video card is not detected by Davinci Resolve. Even though it is unsupported, I think it should probably work if it detected my graphics card.
I reached out to Blackmagic support and they recommended a "stable graphics driver" would be needed to run Davinci Resolve.

Does anyone have any suggestions I could try?

Kind Regards,

Clayton
