Hi
I'm aware that's possible to encrypt the whole debian OS during installation. I have a few questions:
- Is encrypting a system recommended these days? (At the moment I use MX Linux, and have separate luks encrypted HD where I store sensitive docs).
- Are there likely to be more issues about a system breaking because it's encrypted, and/or more difficult fixing things
- Apart from waiting for the OS to decrypt on boot, will it run slower in comparison to a system that isn't encrypted?
I'd be interested to hear any thoughts and if apart from security/data privacy, whether encrypting debian makes it more brittle.
thanks
